Seamless Boiler Tube is designed for boilers, thermal power equipment, heat-exchange systems and other high-temperature or pressure-bearing applications. It is manufactured from boiler-grade steel and formed by hot rolling or cold drawing without a longitudinal weld seam. Compared with structural seamless pipe or general fluid-service pipe, boiler tube is produced and inspected for specific boiler service conditions.
Seamless Boiler Tubes are used in components that carry water, steam or other hot media while exposed to heat and pressure. The material grade, wall thickness, dimensional tolerance and inspection requirements therefore need to match the actual boiler design. For this reason, a boiler tube should be selected according to the specified boiler standard rather than simply substituted with a general seamless steel pipe.
Standards and Grades
We supply boiler tubes according to the required standard and application.
Standard
Application
Typical Grades
GB/T 3087-2022
Seamless tubes for low and medium pressure boilers
10, 20
GB/T 5310-2023
Seamless tubes for high pressure boilers
20G, 15CrMoG, 12Cr1MoVG and other specified grades
GB/T 3087-2022 is the current Chinese standard for seamless steel tubes for low and medium pressure boilers, while GB/T 5310-2023 is the current standard for seamless steel tubes for high pressure boilers.
GB/T 8162-2018 covers seamless tubes for structural purposes, and GB/T 8163-2018 covers seamless steel pipes for liquid service. These are different product standards from dedicated boiler tube standards and should not be treated as direct substitutes where the boiler design specifies GB/T 3087 or GB/T 5310.

Material Selection
20G is widely used for conventional boiler applications where the design temperature and pressure fall within the applicable requirements of the grade and standard.
15CrMoG is a Cr-Mo alloy boiler tube grade used for higher-temperature and higher-pressure service, including thermal power and heat-exchange equipment.
12Cr1MoVG is another alloy boiler tube grade used for high-temperature and high-pressure applications where creep and high-temperature performance are important.
The correct grade should be determined from the operating temperature, pressure, boiler component, design code and required service life rather than choosing the highest-priced material by default.
Manufacturing and Inspection
The Seamless Boiler Tubes are produced by seamless hot rolling or cold drawing. The manufacturing route is selected according to the required diameter, wall thickness, dimensional accuracy and material grade.
For boiler applications, inspection can include chemical composition, tensile properties, impact testing where required, hydrostatic testing and non-destructive testing according to the applicable standard and purchase requirements. Surface inspection is also used to identify defects such as cracks, laps, seams and other imperfections that may affect service.
Boiler Tube Applications
Industrial and Heating Boilers
Used for water-wall tubes, economizer tubes, superheater-related components, convection tube banks and other pressure-bearing boiler parts.
Thermal Power Plants
Applied in superheaters, reheaters, economizers and high-temperature steam piping, with alloy grades selected for the required operating conditions.
Chemical and Heat-Exchange Equipment
Used in high-temperature heat exchangers, process heating equipment and related pressure-bearing piping where the specified standard calls for boiler or heat-resistant tube grades.
Special Equipment
Also used in locomotive boilers, heating units, pressure equipment and other thermal systems requiring dedicated boiler tube specifications.
Processing and Packaging
Available processing includes fixed-length cutting, random-length cutting, end facing, beveling, rust removal, oiling and protective coating according to project requirements.
For export orders, tubes can be bundled and protected against moisture and rust during sea transportation. Packaging details can be adjusted according to container loading, storage period and destination conditions.
Why Choose Us
Based in the Daqiuzhuang steel production area, our supply chain covers seamless steel tubes, carbon steel products and related steel processing. We can arrange standard sizes from available stock as well as project-based production for special dimensions, materials and quantities.
For bulk boiler projects, we can coordinate material selection, cutting, inspection, packing and shipment according to the purchase specification. Third-party inspection such as SGS, BV or TÜV can also be arranged when required by the project.
FAQ
Q1: What is the main difference between seamless boiler tube and ordinary seamless steel pipe?
The main difference is the applicable product standard, material requirements, manufacturing requirements and inspection requirements. Boiler tube is specified for boiler and thermal equipment service, while GB/T 8162 structural pipe and GB/T 8163 fluid-service pipe are intended for different applications. Selection should follow the equipment design and applicable standard.
Q2: How do I choose between 20G, 15CrMoG and 12Cr1MoVG?
The choice depends mainly on temperature, pressure, boiler component and the required material standard. 20G is commonly used for conventional boiler service, while 15CrMoG and 12Cr1MoVG are used for higher-temperature and higher-pressure applications. The final grade should be confirmed against the equipment design and standard.
Q3: What is the difference between GB/T 3087 and GB/T 5310?
GB/T 3087 is for seamless tubes used in low and medium pressure boilers. GB/T 5310 is for seamless tubes used in high pressure boilers and covers stricter requirements for applicable materials and service conditions.
Q4: Can boiler tubes be custom processed?
Yes. We can provide fixed-length cutting, custom lengths, end preparation, beveling, surface treatment and project-specific packing according to the purchase specification and drawings.
